The
Council participated in the 12th summit of Heads of State
and Government of the Group of 15, held from 27th-28th February,
2004 in Caracas, Venezuela. The report of the 2nd
Experts meeting on Nigeria’s G-15 Project on “Collaboration for the
Development and Utilization of Non-metallic Mineral Resources” being
executed by the RMRDC was presented.
The summit also
considered the crucial issue of energy and environment and its role
in the developing countries and global economy in general, and
resolved amongst others to:
develop concrete intra G-15 programmes and actions aimed at
fostering development of the energy sector.
re-affirm commitment to design, develop and implement cooperation
and collaboration among member countries.
seek
to carry out mutual cooperation in human resources development and
capacity building in the energy sector.
