Trona also
known as potash is one of the complex salts used for the production of
soda ash, for cooking of hard food materials such as skin, bones, etc.
It can also be used as feed for cattle and other animals. The biggest
use of trona is in the manufacture of glass. It is also used in
chemical, metal treatment, soaps and detergent, water treatment, pulp
and paper, textiles, petroleum refining, leather tanning, photography,
fertilizers, flue gas desulphurisation and animal feeds. The brief
