The chemical process industry for the provision of industrial chemical
raw materials is in its embryonic stage in Nigeria. This survey reflects on the nature and quantity of chemicals
which are directly applicable to the chemical and pharmaceutical
industries. It reveals that
for the chemical process industries to take off, the country will
benefit appreciably from the application of low technologies which are
amenable to easy understanding and operation.
It contains the natural demand of agro-chemicals and fertilizers,
basic chemicals, pharmaceutical, soap and detergents.
List of research facilities and manpower are enumerated.
