RMRDC GETS BOOST FROM
GOV. ALIERO FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF DISPLAY CENTER IN KEBBI STATE
The current efforts by the Raw
Materials Research and Development Council (RMRDC) in promoting the
development of raw materials in the states, was given a boost,
recently, when Gov. Adamu Aleiro of kebbi state granted a cash
grant, of N1.5 million, to the Council as counterpart funding for
the establishment of a raw materials display center in the state.
Dr. Adamu Aleiro made the
donation in response to the appeal made by the Chairperson of the
Governing Board during a courtesy call to the governor as part of
the RMRDC Board’s tour of Kebbi state.
He stated the willingness of the
state to collaborate with the Council on the establishment of a Meat
Processing factory in Kebbi state, noting that there were more than
15 million cattle reared in Fulani settlements all over the state,
which can support the project.
Earlier, Mrs. Tallen said the
RMRDC Board were in the state to hold talks with the Governor on how
the Council could assist in the development of the state’s raw
materials resources.
A memorandum of understanding (MOU)
was also signed between the Kebbi state Government and the Council
on the establishment of projects for the development of the abundant
raw materials resources in the state.
