| The
tree crops that have great industrial potentials cultivated in Nigeria
include amongst others, Cocoa, Kola, Coffee, Coconut, Oil palm, Rubber,
Cashew, Gum Arabic, etc. Products
of these important trees have traditionally been exported for hard currency.
The crude oil boom of the early 70's and 80's however depressed local
production and international marketing of these produce.
However, efforts are currently on to stimulate local production and
value addition before exportation.
