Status/Prospects:
Local production of Guava is on the increase because of the interest shown by local fruit juice processors.

R&D Activities:

NIHORT is also in the process of developing process technology at cottage level for:-

-papain production from pawpaw;
-vinegar from fermented plantain;
-dehydrated and dried products from mango;
-wine production from plantain, banana & pine apple;
-jellies,  marmalades, chutney, relishes and preserves from citrus, pineapple, pawpaw, 
 guava, mango.
-candied fruits and fruit leathers from mango, pawpaw, guava, citrus and
 pineapple pulps.
