Status/Prospects:
Nigeria is not well noted for
exportation of citrus fruits; The country produced 0.3 million
tonnes out of the world production of 36.0 metric tonnes but has the
potential to produce more for both local and international markets.

processing of citrus fruit is on the increase to meet increasing local
demand for fruit juice, which is currently met by large scale
importation.
