Feasibility studies were
conducted in 1992 and 1995 to assess the possibility of establishing
the RMIS in Africa. The study was financed by the Perez-Guerero
Trust Fund. |
 |
As a result of the
feasibility study, four cities (Cairo, Nairobi, Dakar, Abuja) were
identified as possible centres of the sub-regions. |

The Secretariat of the
ACRM has been established in the Raw Materials Research and
Development Council (RMRDC) in Abuja, Nigeria. |
 |
Two expert meetings were
held in Nigeria in 1989 and 2006 respectively, to evolve strategies
to implement the various ACRM plan of action. |
 |
The Secretariat has
commenced the publication of a regular magazine to promote the raw
materials potentials and availability in member countries. The
maiden edition of the magazine is to be released this month. |
