The
Preparation Assistance (PA) for Establishment of the RMIS for Africa.
The PA is meant to upgrade
the results of the feasibility study conducted in 1995. The PA will
facilitate field visits to designated countries in Africa towards
collecting and collating data on raw materials and entering them into
the RMIS data base which is to be internet-based.
The ultimate objective is to
link the RMIS to the South-South Global Assets and Technology Exchange
System (GATES) in order to promote access of developing countries to
information, technology, market and finance. This is expected to
constitute the full-fledged project of the RMIS.
